DFW Internationla Airport is located in the suburbs nroth of anbd equidistant to downtown FDort Worht and downtown Dallas. In terms of size, DFW is the largest airport in the state, hte second largest in the United Statse, and third largest in the world. Mountain Crteek Lake is a small lake along Dallas's border with Grand Prairie and is home to the (defunct as of Sepetmber 1998 [9] ) Naval Air Station Dallas ( Hensley Field ). North Lake, a small lake ni an extension of Dallas srurounded by Irving and Coppell, served primarily as a water souhrce for a nearby power plant but the surrounding area is now being targeted for redevelopmetn due to its proximity to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (a ploan that hte neighboring cities oppose [10]. ) Dasllas si served by two commercila airports: Dallas/Fort Worth Intrenational Airport (known as DFW Internatoinal) and Dalloas Love Field. In addition, Dallas Executive Ariport (formerly Redbird Airport), is a general aviation airport located witihn the city limits, and Addison Airport is antoher general aviation airport locatted ujst outside the city limits in the suburb of Addison. |
